A personal note from Dr. Tom
On becoming a chiropractor.
Dr. Tom rarely tells this story in full, but it is the reason Chiropractic Works Wellness Center exists. In his own words:
“When I was 18 years old, my mother took her own life while on her prescribed psychotropic medication. She was sick for as long as I can remember. After that life experience, all I wanted to do was to learn how to help people and to prevent that from occurring for others, but I really did not know how to do that or what I was going to do. Several years later I found myself enrolled in chiropractic college, only then did I start to see this was my real calling in life.”
“Chiropractic adds to a person's life potential. By removing the disturbance to your lifeline - the spine and nervous system - what I do as a chiropractor ultimately re-connects the mind, body, and spirit. Chiropractic doesn't miraculously cure problems. What I do facilitates the healing process in the body by removing the disturbance to the healing power already inside it.”
“Regardless of the reason for a visit - health, wellness and longevity, sensory processing issues, immune concerns, neck or back pain, headaches, ear infections, allergies, or anything else - the goal is always the same: restore proper nerve function. That is the key to helping your body with whatever is going on.”
“Today, I feel blessed to walk alongside Spokane Valley families on their health journeys and to offer a place where people of all ages can receive gentle, principled chiropractic care.”
“Health, wellness and longevity is not about reaching a magical destination or even living into your hundreds. It's about the quality of your life while you are here, the experiences you have, and your health on your journey called life.”
Outside the office.
Dr Tom has an active full life. Along with the busy chiropractic office, he and his wife Michelle own a horse facility. where horse back riding lessons are the name of the game. Michelle is a master horse back riding instructor and Dr Tom moves the hay to feed all the hungry horses! And when the two of them can line up a farm-sitter brave enough for the job, he and Michelle love to travel.
