A laser that helps instead of cuts.

Low level laser therapy (LLLT) has been used worldwide for more than 40 years to relieve pain, remove scars, heal wounds, and regenerate nerves. In 2002, Erchonia - the maker of the laser we use - became the first U.S. LLLT company to receive FDA market clearance through a clinical trial.

That study took 100 patients with neck and shoulder pain. Half received a placebo red light, half received LLLT. The treatment group beat the placebo group by 66% faster and more complete relief. Double-blind studies like it are the gold standard for testing whether a therapy really works, and similar FDA studies have covered carpal tunnel, wounds, and scar tissue.

Across more than 2,000 published studies on LLLT, zero negative side effects have been reported.

How light helps a cell heal.

Your cells run on a chemical called ATP - it is like gasoline for the body. Everything your body does, including healing tissue, uses it.

LLLT works at the cell level: the light stimulates the mitochondria - the tiny structure nicknamed the powerhouse of the cell because it produces ATP - to make slightly more of it. More ATP at the cell level means muscle, skin, and nerve tissue heal faster, and relief comes quicker.

The benefit is also systemic. We focus the laser on one area, but the extra ATP circulates through your whole body - so people sometimes notice improvements beyond the spot we treated.

Questions people ask about cold laser.

What is cold laser therapy?

Cold laser therapy, also called low level laser therapy or LLLT, uses gentle, low-intensity laser light to support the body’s own healing of soft tissue, inflammation, and pain. It is non-invasive and painless - no heat, no cutting, no drugs. At CWWC we use an Erchonia laser, from the first U.S. company to receive FDA market clearance for LLLT through clinical trial.

Does cold laser therapy hurt?

No. Sessions are painless and quick. Most people feel nothing at all during a session - the laser is called cold because it does not heat your tissue the way surgical lasers do.

How many sessions will I need?

In general, 5 to 12 sessions are needed to begin the healing process of tissue, though some people notice relief right away. The maximum is one session per day per area; three sessions per week is optimum, and one per week is the minimum to still see results.

How much does it cost?

An individual laser session is $35. A package of 5 sessions is $150 ($30 each), and a package of 12 sessions is $330 ($27.50 each).

Is low level laser therapy FDA approved?

Erchonia was the first U.S. LLLT company to receive FDA market clearance, through a double-blind clinical trial on neck and shoulder pain in 2002 in which the treatment group had 66% faster and more complete relief than placebo. Similar FDA studies have covered carpal tunnel, wounds, and scar tissue, and over 2,000 published studies on LLLT report zero negative side effects. You can dig into the research at Erchonia’s site.
