Sports chiropractic in Spokane Valley

Fast hands, strong legs, clear signals. Move how your body was designed to move.

Whether you are training for a race on the Centennial Trail or chasing a weekend league title, your performance depends on a nervous system that can send clear signals. We help remove what gets in the way.

Nervous-system-based care · Serving Spokane Valley athletes since 2003

Athletes ask more of their bodies than most people do.

Every rep, every mile, every game asks your nervous system to coordinate strength, balance, and timing at the same moment. When something is off, you feel it before you can name it.

  • A tight hip that shows up two miles into every Centennial Trail run.
  • A shoulder that never quite feels like it fully recovered after last season.
  • Reaction time that feels a step slower in the fourth quarter than the first.
  • You want a provider who trains as hard as you do, not one who just hands you ice packs.

Why performance starts with your nervous system.

Coordination, endurance, and strength are all directed by your brain, sent to your muscles through your spine and nervous system. A subluxation - a spinal joint not moving the way it was designed to - can interfere with those signals in both directions: the commands going out to your muscles, and the feedback coming back to your brain.

Chiropractic care focuses on finding and correcting subluxations, which is why athletes at the highest levels build it into their routine. Every team in the National Football League keeps a chiropractor on staff. Olympic athletes get adjusted before, during, and after their events to stay at peak performance. And plenty of the players who took the pitch at this summer's World Cup count on chiropractic care too. Some research has linked correcting this interference to measurably faster reaction time. For an athlete, that margin matters.

A body free of that interference is also less likely to compensate and get hurt in the first place, and it tends to recover from the bumps and strains of training more completely.

How care works, from first scan to game day.

1

Scan

A painless COREscore scan measures how your nervous system is functioning under load, giving you objective numbers instead of guesswork about where you actually stand.

2

Plan

Dr. Tom builds a plan around your sport, your training calendar, and your history, and explains what he finds in plain language before any adjustment happens.

3

Gentle, effective visits

Precise, low-force adjustments that fit around your training and competition schedule, with re-scans to show you real progress instead of leaving you to wonder.

Questions athletes ask us.

Do you only see serious or competitive athletes?

No. We see weekend runners on the Centennial Trail, high school athletes, weightlifters, and adults who just want their body to keep up with an active life. Performance chiropractic is for anyone who asks their body to move well, not only pros.

How does chiropractic help athletic performance?

Movement, coordination, and strength are all directed by your nervous system. When the spine is not moving correctly, it can interfere with the signals between your brain and your muscles. Correcting that interference is the goal of chiropractic care, and it is why many professional teams keep a chiropractor on staff.

Can chiropractic help me recover from a sports injury faster?

A body free of nervous system interference generally heals more efficiently. Chiropractic care is not a substitute for emergency or orthopedic treatment when you need it, but it is a strong addition to any recovery plan, and many athletes use it alongside other care after an injury.

Is chiropractic care only for injuries, or can it help prevent them?

Prevention is a big part of why athletes see us. A body functioning at less than its best is more likely to compensate and get hurt. Regular care aims to keep your structure and nervous system working well before a small imbalance becomes a bigger problem.

Do you work with high school and youth athletes?

Yes. We care for young athletes across Spokane Valley in club sports, school teams, and weekend leagues, using the same gentle, low-force techniques we use with all of our younger patients.
